Ingredients:
For the cake:
1 1/2 cups (190g) all-purpose flour 🌾

For the strawberry filling:
2 cups (250g) sliced strawberries 🍓
1/4 cup (60g) granulated sugar 🍮
2 tablespoons cornstarch 🌾
2 tablespoons lemon juice 💧
For the whipped cream:
1 cup (240ml) heavy cream ❄️
2 tablespoons granulated sugar 🍮
Preparation Steps:
1️⃣ Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch (23cm) round cake pan. 🍞
2️⃣ Prepare the cake: Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add softened butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth. 🍰
3️⃣ Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely. 🕰️
4️⃣ Prepare the strawberry filling: Mix sliced strawberries, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice. Let it sit for about 15 minutes, until the strawberries start to release their juice. 🍓
5️⃣ Assemble the cake: Place the cooled cake layer on a serving plate. Spread the strawberry filling over the cake, leaving a 1-inch (2.5cm) border around the edges. 🎂
6️⃣ Prepare the whipped cream: Beat heavy cream and granulated sugar until stiff peaks form. Top the cake with whipped cream and decorate with additional sliced strawberries, if desired. ❄️
