Ingredients:

For the cake:

2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour 🌾

1 ½ cups granulated sugar 🍮

2 teaspoons baking powder ⚖️

1 teaspoon salt 💸

1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 🍫

1 cup whole milk 🥛

2 large eggs 🥚

1 teaspoon vanilla extract 💧

For the dulce de leche:

1 can sweetened condensed milk 🥛

For the mocha frosting:

1 cup unsalted butter, softened 🥖

2 cups confectioners' sugar 🎂

2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder 🍫

2 teaspoons instant coffee powder ☕️

2 tablespoons milk or heavy cream 🥛

Preparation Steps:

1️⃣ Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and flour three 8-inch round cake pans. 🍰

2️⃣ Prepare the dulce de leche by boiling the sweetened condensed milk for 1-2 hours, or until thickened and golden brown. 🍮

3️⃣ In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. 🌾

4️⃣ In a large mixing bowl, combine cocoa powder and milk. Stir until smooth. 🍫

5️⃣ Add eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Whisk in vanilla extract. 🥚

6️⃣ Gradually add the dry ingredients to the chocolate mixture, whisking until smooth. 🌪️

7️⃣ Divide the batter evenly among the prepared pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. 🎂

8️⃣ Allow the cakes to cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. ❄️

9️⃣ Prepare the mocha frosting by beating the butter, confectioners' sugar, cocoa powder, coffee powder, and milk until smooth and creamy. 🎂

10️⃣ Assemble the cake by spreading a layer of dulce de leche on top of each cake layer, then frosting with mocha frosting. 🍰

Prep Time: 45 minutes

Notes:

To ensure the cake is moist, don't overmix the batter.

If using a water bath for the dulce de leche, reduce boiling time to 30-40 minutes.

For a stronger coffee flavor, use more coffee powder or add a shot of espresso to the frosting.
