Ingredients:

1 lb ground beef 🥩

1/2 cup breadcrumbs 🍞

1/2 cup grated Swiss cheese 🧀

2 cloves garlic, minced 💡

1 egg 🥚

1/4 cup ketchup 🍅

1 tsp dried thyme 🌿

Salt and pepper to taste ❗️

1/4 cup beef broth 🍜


Preparation Steps:

1️⃣ In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Swiss cheese, caramelized onions, garlic, egg, ketchup, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix well with your hands or a wooden spoon until just combined. 🍲

2️⃣ Transfer the mixture to a crockpot and shape into a loaf. 🍞

3️⃣ Pour beef broth around the loaf. 🍜

4️⃣ Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours. 🕰️

5️⃣ Top with additional Swiss cheese and cook for an additional 30 minutes, until melted and bubbly. 🧀

Notes and Tips:

To caramelize onions, heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan over medium-low heat. Add 1 large onion, sliced, and cook for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until deep golden brown. 🍠
